Towels and home textiles: common questions.

What GSM should a good bath towel have?

Towel weight is measured in grams per square metre, and it shapes how thick, absorbent and long-lasting a towel feels. Lighter towels around 300 to 400 GSM dry quickly and suit beach, gym and travel use. Mid-weight towels from about 450 to 550 GSM are the common choice for everyday bath towels, offering a good balance of softness, absorbency and drying time. Heavy towels from 600 to 700 GSM feel plush and luxurious and are popular with hotels and premium retailers, although they take longer to dry. Yarn and weaving matter as much as weight: ring-spun and zero-twist yarns feel softer, while longer loops add absorbency. We test absorbency, shrinkage and colour fastness on samples, and share swatches in different weights so you can compare the feel before production starts.

Can you weave our logo into towels?

Yes, and towels offer several branding options. A dobby border weaves a band of flat texture across the towel, which can include simple text or patterns, while jacquard weaving creates detailed logos or designs within the terry itself, visible on both sides. Velour towels, sheared on one side, provide a smooth surface for printed designs and are often used for beach towels. Embroidery on a finished towel suits small logos, monograms and hotel crests, and allows smaller quantities for each design. Woven labels and hangtags complete the branding for retail. Each method affects weaving setup, cost and minimum quantities, so we recommend the option that suits your artwork and order size. We make a sample for approval, and test colour fastness so that logos stay sharp and bright through repeated washing.
