The number of rounds depends on how developed your design is, but most orders move through a similar sequence. A proto sample checks the overall look and construction, often in available fabric. A fit sample, made in the right or a similar fabric, is tried on a model or fit form so you can comment on measurements and proportions. Once fit is approved, a size set shows the grading across your size range. The pre-production sample is made in bulk fabric and trims, and becomes the sealed standard that the factory and our inspectors work from. Some brands also order salesman or photo samples to sell or shoot a collection before production. Each round comes with measurements and notes, and clear, consolidated comments on each sample are the best way to reduce the number of rounds you need.

Sampling uses real pattern-making time, fabric, trims and courier costs, so samples are normally charged, and the cost is agreed before we start. The price depends on the garment and the stage: a simple tee in stock fabric costs less than a lined jacket with custom trims, and international courier charges vary by destination. When you go on to place a production order, we credit agreed sample charges against it where possible, and explain in advance how that works for your order. To keep costs down, send a complete tech pack or a reference garment, combine your comments into one round, and approve fabrics and colours through swatches and lab dips before full samples are made. If you need several colours, we usually sample one garment in full and show the other colours as fabric swatches.

Yes. Many new brands start with a sketch, a mood board or a garment they already like, and our sample room turns that into a working tech pack. We measure the reference or develop the pattern from your sketch, draw flat technical drawings, record points of measure and tolerances, write the construction details, and list the fabrics and trims with composition and weight. You review the tech pack alongside the first sample, and we update it with every approved change, so by production it matches the sealed sample exactly. The finished tech pack is yours to keep and use.
