A common pattern is to use our sampling and product development service to build patterns and a sealed sample, then place bulk as full package so one company carries the fabric and production risk. Another is to run core styles as full package while a nominated-fabric programme runs as CMT, because you have a mill relationship worth keeping. Small first runs can go through our sister factory, Collective Studio Ltd., while proven styles move to bulk production as volumes grow. What matters is that each style has one clear model, so the price, the responsibilities and the inspection standard are unambiguous. Ask for the model to be stated on the order confirmation for each style, and we will tell you when splitting adds more admin than it saves. One sealed sample per style keeps both runs to the same standard.

Five things are constant. You get one point of contact at CMB Sourcing who knows your order rather than a shared inbox. You get the factory named in writing before production starts, with its audit reports and certificates. You get an approved pre-production sample, which becomes the standard every later inspection is judged against. You get quality control through production: bulk fabric tested against the approved swatch before cutting, quality checks on the line, and an AQL final inspection, with the report sent to you before you approve shipment. And you get the export documents your market needs, including the origin paperwork that lets your goods claim duty-free or reduced-duty entry where it applies. What changes between services is who buys the materials and where our responsibility starts, not the standard of control. In CMT you supply the fabric and trims; we handle cutting, sewing, finishing, packing and inspection at our sister factory or an audited partner factory, and the price covers labour, overheads and management. In full package, usually quoted FOB, you supply a tech pack or a sample, and we source the fabric and trims and quote one price for finished goods at the port. In private label you supply your logo and label artwork, and a proven pattern is made in your fabric choice and colours with your branding. OEM works to your own specification and ODM develops a range from your brief, with development quoted on top of the goods. One team is then responsible for fabric, trims, production, inspection and export documents, and you get one price per piece instead of managing a mill, a trim supplier and a factory yourself. Move to CMT once you have your own fabric relationships and want tighter control of material costs, because you then carry the fabric risk. Choose private label if you want proven garment blocks under your own labels quickly, custom if the fit or fabric you want does not exist yet, and OEM or ODM if you produce to your own specification or want a range developed from a brief. Without a design of your own, the two services that fit are private label and ODM. Private label needs no design at all: you choose a proven garment block, such as a tee, polo or hoodie, pick the fabric and colour, and add your labels and packaging, so all you send is a logo and label artwork. ODM develops something new: you send a brief covering market, price position, season and target customer, and we propose styles, fabrics and trims with costing options, with the development quoted before it starts. Full package, OEM and custom all assume you bring the concept, as a sketch, a reference garment or a tech pack; the sampling service can turn a sketch into a pattern and a working tech pack. For knitwear we do both: we make it in our own factory, the factory of our sister company, Collective Studio Ltd., and manage the order. For denim, leather and everything else, CMB Sourcing Ltd. manages the order and an audited partner factory makes the garments. The factory’s work is physical production. Its sample room makes the pattern and the samples, and its floor does the marker, cutting, sewing, finishing, pressing and packing. Our work is everything around that. We cost the style and quote a price per piece, place it with a factory suited to the product and name that factory to you in writing with its audits, source the fabric and trims under full package, private label and OEM, manage the approvals, check quality on the line, carry out the AQL final inspection and send you the report, then prepare the export documents and ship on the term you chose. Minimums differ: 500 pieces per style and colour is the floor and the minimum for t-shirts and hoodies; denim jeans, jackets, woven shirts and workwear start at 2,000, underwear at 5,000 pieces and socks at 5,000 pairs. Private label depends on a proven block existing for the garment, which covers tees, polos, fleece, denim and more. The small-run route is the narrowest: it is made by our sister factory, Collective Studio Ltd., and covers knit and cut-and-sew categories only, such as tees, polos, hoodies, joggers, activewear, loungewear and caps, not denim washes, tailored outerwear or sweaters.
