Placing production, not buying stock

We are a buying house, not a stockist. A wholesale order with us is a production order: your styles, in your fabric and colours, under your label or unbranded, made in an audited factory in Bangladesh and shipped to your warehouse. There is no catalogue to pick from and no goods on a shelf, which is why our prices start where a stockist’s finish. Bangladesh built its position as the world’s second-largest clothing exporter on exactly this kind of order, volume basics made to a specification and repeated, and the published figures show the scale: ready-made garments earned US$38.70 billion in the year to June 2026.

The trade-off is the minimum and the lead time. A distributor who needs 200 mixed pieces next week is better served by a stockist; a distributor who sells the same polo, tee, fleece or workwear line season after season, in thousands of pieces, is the buyer this page is written for.

Starting prices by category

These are our own starting prices for a basic style at factory minimums, approved by the owner on 19 September 2026 and shown on each product page. They are a starting point for a range plan, not a quote: fabric weight, decoration, colours, quantity and shipping term move each one. The only confirmed minimum so far is 1,000 pieces for t-shirts; other minimums are quoted per style and fabric. How a wholesale price is built

A wholesale price from a Bangladesh factory is built line by line, and a distributor who knows the lines negotiates better. Fabric is the largest, close to half of a knitted garment’s price in a published costing study, and it moves with weight, fibre and whether the shade is a stock colour or a custom dye lot. Cutting, sewing and finishing are the labour lines, driven by the number of operations in the style. Trims and packaging follow, then testing where your market requires it, inspection, and the export documents. Our margin sits inside the price per piece; there is no separate fee.

Three choices move a wholesale price more than anything else: the colour count, because each colour is its own fabric lot and minimum; the decoration, where a one-colour print costs a fraction of a four-colour print or a large embroidery; and the packing, because retail-ready packing with hangers, size stickers and barcodes is a separate operation from bulk polybags. We quote each as a line you can switch on or off.

Minimums per style and per colour

Minimums exist because a factory plans a sewing line around a style and a mill dyes a fabric lot for it. Our confirmed minimum for t-shirts is 1,000 pieces per style; other categories are quoted, and the quote states the figure that applies. The number that surprises first-time importers is the per-colour minimum: a style in six colours is six fabric lots, each with its own dye minimum, so a 1,200-piece order split six ways may not clear it. We plan a range against the per-colour minimum and say where a colour should wait for the reorder. For quantities below factory minimums we place small runs with a named small-run factory, described on the low MOQ page; those orders are priced separately and the prices on this page do not apply to them.

Running a repeat programme

Distributors live on reorders, and a reorder is only useful if it matches the first delivery. We keep the standards as physical objects, not notes: the sealed pre-production sample, the approved lab dip for each colour, the final measurement sheet and the fabric details including the mill and the quality name. A reorder is matched against them, the same factory is used unless you agree otherwise, and the inspection compares the new goods with the sealed sample rather than with a photograph. Where a fabric quality is discontinued, we tell you before quoting and offer the nearest match with a swatch.

A programme also needs a calendar. We agree a critical path per style, fabric booking, lab dips, sample approval, production and ship date, and flag slippage early rather than at the end. For a line that reorders on a fixed cycle, fabric can be booked ahead against a forecast you confirm, which protects the ship date when mills are busy.

Landed cost by market

A wholesale price only means something delivered, so plan on landed cost: the factory price plus freight, insurance, duty and tax at import. Duty is where Bangladesh origin pays off in most markets, and our market pages hold the sourced position for each. The figures below are the duty positions from those pages on the dates shown there; the landed cost calculator turns an FOB price into a delivered figure for any of them.

• UK: 0% duty under the Developing Countries Trading Scheme with proof of origin; 20% import VAT, with young children’s clothing zero-rated
• EU: 0% duty under Everything But Arms with a REX statement on origin, continuing until November 2029
• US: no preference; base duty of 16.5% on cotton knits and 32% on man-made fibre knits, plus a 10% additional tariff from 25 July 2026
• Canada: 0% duty under the Least Developed Country Tariff, extended to 2034; 5% GST at import
• Australia: 0% duty under the Australian System of Trade Preferences; 10% GST at import
• Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait: 5% of CIF value under the GCC common tariff; 15% VAT in Saudi Arabia, 5% in the UAE, none in Kuwait

What a distributor has to supply

A production order needs the information a stock purchase does not. Send it with the enquiry and the quote comes back faster and holds better.

• Styles and quantities per style, per colour and per size, or a size ratio
• Label content for your market: fibre composition, origin, care, and your brand or a neutral label
• Packing specification: pieces per polybag and carton, carton markings, and any retail-ready requirements
• Barcodes and hangtags, with the artwork or the files to print them
• The countries you distribute to, so labels and documents suit each on arrival
• Shipping term and destination, and whether you want a landed (DDP) figure

Payment and shipping terms

We quote on FOB, CIF or DDP terms and state which on every quote, so two quotes can be compared like with like. Goods ship from Chattogram sea port or Dhaka airport. Payment terms are agreed per order and confirmed in writing before production; we do not publish a standard structure because it depends on the order value, the relationship and the market. The order confirmation carries the delivery date the factory has committed to, and the shipping documents, commercial invoice, packing list, transport document and proof of origin, are sent as the goods leave.
