A brief, boxer brief or bralette at 100 pieces per style and colour is cut and sewn from your pattern in a combed cotton or cotton-elastane jersey, with a plush-back waistband elastic, leg elastics or bindings, a gusset where the style needs one, and heat-transfer labels so nothing rubs. The two things a first run does not cover are a custom-dyed shade and a branded jacquard waistband, because both are made in minimums far larger than 100 garments; a first run uses the partner’s stock elastics and the stock shades, and the branded waistband comes when a style justifies its minimum. Underwear sold in multi-packs is planned colour by colour, since each colour is its own 100 pieces. Softness first, then how it washes. Combed cotton single jersey is the safe base for lounge tops and bottoms; cotton-modal adds drape and a cool touch that suits sleepwear; cotton-elastane gives recovery for fitted pieces; rib knits suit tanks and fitted lounge sets; waffle knits give sleepwear texture and warmth without weight. Finishes matter in this category more than most, because the garment is judged by the skin: a bio-washed or silicone-finished jersey feels soft from the first wear rather than after the fifth wash. Weight runs lighter than outerwear, and colours run to neutrals and muted shades, which is what the partner’s stock in these fabrics covers. They carry the same fibre content, care and origin information as any garment in your market, and in several markets they are tested for restricted substances at stricter limits than outerwear because they sit against the skin for hours: the EU and UK apply their chemical restrictions to all textiles, the EU’s general product safety rules apply, and some retailers set their own tighter limits for underwear and sleepwear. Children’s sleepwear has flammability rules in several markets and is a different programme. A fibre claim such as organic cotton needs a transaction certificate covering the fabric in your order, not a certificate for the mill in general; the partner holds GOTS certification for organic options, and we ask for the certificate before the label is printed.
