The producer, which for imported clothing means the company placing the packaged goods on the Danish market: an importer, a Danish distributor or a foreign distance seller shipping to Danish consumers. Denmark's packaging scheme started on 1 October 2025. You register with Dansk Producentansvar, join a collective scheme, and report each year how much packaging you placed on the market, broken down by material. When it arrives, expect registration, a fee per item placed on the market and annual reporting, with fees likely modulated so garments that are easier to recycle cost less. The useful preparation is data and design. Record fibre composition and garment weight per style from now on, because reconstructing it later from labels is slow and unreliable. Where it does not compromise the product, favour single-fibre constructions and separable trims.
