Clothing manufacturer in Bangladesh for Polish brands
Poland has become a base for brands serving central Europe, and its growth in Bangladeshi clothing reflects that. The duty position is the EU one; the local step that surprises new importers is registering in the BDO database before goods arrive.

Duty and origin
Poland applies EU rules: Bangladeshi clothing enters duty-free under Everything But Arms with a REX statement on origin, through the transition to November 2029. Sea freight usually arrives through Gdańsk or Gdynia, or through Hamburg and Rotterdam with onward road transport.
BDO registration
Poland runs a central database for products, packaging and waste, known as BDO. A company that places packaged goods on the Polish market, including an importer bringing goods in from outside the EU, must be registered before the first shipment, and then keeps records and files annual reports. Registration is a company-level obligation for the importer, not something the factory can do for you.
Labels for the Polish market
Fibre composition must be given in Polish under the EU textile labelling regulation, alongside care symbols and EU sizing. The EU General Product Safety Regulation also requires the importer’s name and contact details, and an identifier such as a batch or style number.
- Fibre composition in Polish, using EU fibre names
- Care symbols and EU size
- Importer name and contact details
- Batch or style number for traceability
What textile EPR will add
Directive (EU) 2025/1892 requires every member state to run extended producer responsibility for textiles, with schemes operating by April 2028. Poland will introduce registration, a contribution per item placed on the market and annual reporting. The data needed is fibre composition and weight per style, which we keep on the order file.

Questions from Poland buyers.
What is BDO registration and do I need it before importing?
BDO is Poland's central database for products, packaging and waste. A company that places packaged goods on the Polish market, including an importer bringing clothing in from outside the EU, must be registered in it before the first shipment, and then keeps records and files annual reports. Registration is a company-level obligation that belongs to the importer, so a supplier in Bangladesh cannot do it for you, and marketplaces increasingly check it. Getting registered first matters because the obligation attaches when the goods are placed on the market, not when you get around to the paperwork. For clothing, the packaging in scope is polybags, hang tags, cartons and mailing bags. We record packaging weights per style, which is the data your reporting needs, and can propose lighter or recyclable alternatives at sampling.
Does clothing sold in Poland need Polish-language labelling?
Yes. Fibre composition must be given in Polish, following the EU textile labelling regulation, which requires composition in the official language of the country where the product is sold. Percentages must be accurate and are checked against the fabric test report before bulk labels are printed. Polish retailers also expect care symbols and EU sizing, and the EU General Product Safety Regulation requires the importer's name and contact details on the product or packaging, plus an identifier such as a batch or style number so goods can be traced. Brands selling across central Europe usually run one multilingual care label rather than separate labels per country, which is cheaper to produce and easier to control. We set that layout with you at sampling and check it on the pre-production sample.
